A Field Marketing Organization (FMO) acts as a liaison between an insurance carrier and an insurance agent. The FMO connects the agent to the carrier through a contract which allows the agent to offer that carriers products to their clients. When an agent sells a policy, the agent earns sales commission and the FMO earns an override, both from the carrier.
